Malcolm Potts, MB, BChir, PhD, Co-Director:  Dr. Potts is the Bixby Professor of Population and Family Planning at the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley. He was the first Medical Director of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. In the 1980's he was President and CEO of Family Health International (USA) and in the 1990's he founded International Family Health (IFH) in London.

Julia Walsh, MD, DTPH, Co-Director:  Dr. Walsh is an Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley's School of Public Health, as well as a physician and health-planner with a particular interest in cost-effectiveness analysis and priority setting. Her research emphasizes health policy and financing reproductive health in developing countries.

 

Ingrid Dries-Daffner, BA is a staff research associate.  Her past experience includes domestic and international health journalism and policy analysis.  Her interests include sexual health education and policy, adolescent pregnancy prevention and the intersection of religion and reproductive health. idd@uclink.berkeley.edu

Ashley Fraser, BA is a Masters student in the Maternal and Child Health Program at the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley.  Her previous research includes reviewing background literature for reassessment of the cost of fully implementing the expanded reproductive health and family planning provisions agreed upon at Cairo. Her past experience includes domestic and international policy analysis and political development. afraser@uclink.berkeley.edu

Russell Green, BA is a PhD student in the Department of Economics at UC Berkeley.  His dissertation is on the political economy of bank regulation in developing countries.  His research interests include demography, health and developmental economics. green@econ.berkeley.edu

Nuriye Hodoglugil, MD, MPH, MS is a staff research associate. Her main areas of interest are reproductive health, women’s health and medical anthropology. She has worked in the improvement of quality of family planning training and sexually transmitted diseases services in Turkey. Her previous research also includes violence against women and perceptions of cardiovascular health and disease at the community level. hodoglugiln@yahoo.com

B.K. Kumar, MS is a second year MBA student at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. His research concentrates on further defining unmet needs for reproductive care and its market size across developing countries. His research interests also include applying systems approach to understanding social and related health issues. balakris@haas.berkeley.edu

Emi Masaki, MPH is a PhD student in the Health Services and Policy Analysis at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. Her concentration is in health economics and her research interests include the cost effectiveness of HIV/AIDS intervention strategies. emasaki@uclink.berkeley.edu

Dominic Montagu, MBA, DrPH received his doctorate from the Maternal and Child Health Department at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. His research interests include franchising reproductive health services and working with private sector providers. dominic@lmi.net

Kavita Nayak, MBBS is currently an MPH student in Maternal and Child Health at the UC Berkeley School of Public Health . Her research concentrates on source, coverage and time trends in the use of the private sector as a provider of health services in developing countries, primarily in India. kavita2101@hotmail.com

Ndola Prata, MD, MSc is an Associate Specialist at the UC Berkeley Institute of Human Development and the School of Public Health. Her research concentrates on reproductive health economics, family planning ability to pay and financing, and adolescent sexual behavior in developing countries.
